Festival Glitter Makeup Inspiration

It's Coachella weekend! Obviously Coachella is not hosted in South Africa, but the festival energy on our socials has us bubbling with excitement for festival season in South Africa. We still have a long winter ahead of us, but you can never start prepping your makeup look too soon.

For those who don't know, DreamSQNS was created as a festival glitter brand in 2014. Can you believe it's been 10 years of DreamSQNS Glitters? Our company has expanded greatly, with big focuses on professional makeup and fashion, but festivals will always be at the core of DreamSQNS.

1. Demanding attention with bright eyes:

Nothing will ever compare to wearing glitter with a bright eyeshadow! Easy, effective and LOUD! Our CEO - International Makeup Artist Raine Tauber - created this look a few years back and we have done hundreds of variations since. Simply pack a bright eyeshadow on the eyelid in your desired shape and add some glitter accents on the inner corner, high points of the cheek and temples. Add some extra drama with a colourful mascara and a bright blush!

2. Glitter under eyes:

Okay, so I might be biased since I created this look on myself at one of our glitter bars, but this is a forever favourite way to use glitter! Use a colourful eye pencil in your waterline, smoke it out with a matching eyeshadow as far down as you please. I personally love going big and dramatic, especially for festivals. Optionally, drag the shadow down in tear shapes. This eye look pairs perfectly with our fine iridescent glitters - I used Psychic Fine to match my blue eyeshadow.

3. Cheeky glitter cheeks:

For those who can't be bothered to spend hours on their makeup, simplify your life with glitter cheeks. We have dubbed this look 'festival cheeks' as it's the most popular way to wear glitter at festivals. Featured in this look is our Dream Catcher Chunky Glitter.

4. Psychedelic glitter eyes:

Another absolute masterpiece by Raine! I don't know what her concept was here, but probably something along the lines of 'more is more'. Super fun colourful eyes, colourful winged liner and a contrasting colourful waterline. Topped off with glitter all around a big false eyelash. This screams festival loud and proud, and we love the psychedelic fairy vibes of this makeup.

5. When in doubt... just put it everywhere:
